Natural Timber is available in many species. Most are suitable for decking. All require upkeep to have them remain in tip top condition.

When choosing a species for you new deck, it is important to select carefully, as there are many factors to consider. For instance; position of the deck, how much is exposed to the elements, level of usage, source of the timber, durability, colour, hardness, termite resistance, fire resistance, impact on the environment, Local building codes,  Australian Standards and not to mention cost.
